The sound of the bathroom door opening -even as quiet as it was- made her eyes shoot open from her very quick rest, a short flare of panic rushing over her before things clicked into place. Her lips parted half way to reveal a sigh, shaking her head before her eyes wandered to the doorway, waiting on seeing him come around from the stairs. Again she told herself that she'd have to get used to this, but it could wait until she was better rested. The fork in her hand was twisted in her food, gathering a small clump before bringing it to her mouth. When he paused she got a small feeling of dread, expecting something much different then words. The knot in her stomach making the food in her mouth hard to swallow. As relief cooled her she dipped her head, tongue slipping from her lips to lick over them before she spoke in reply. "Ahah, just rest up. Theres things I'd like to talk about once we're both more... Alive." Sara was definitely a bit awkward. Honestly, all her words just came out, and she wished she could of said something better. Being solo had taken a large bite out of her social skills, something she would definitely have to work on, and with him she could. As long as he didn't mind the weird, last second things she seemed to say. After taking another few bites she tossed her dish in the sink to do later, moving to the stairs; not before speaking again though. "Goodnight, Nick. Sleep well." With that she made her ways up the stairs to her room, disarming herself and carelessly placing the weapons on her nightstand table. She moved to close the door and got changed, soon after slinking into bed. After giving a yawn and cuddling up with a pillow, she was sound asleep. Dreams and thoughts tumbled around in her head, making her sleep more discomforting then it should of been, tossing and turning. OOC: Shall we skip to the next day?

His body jolted upright, his hands fumbled about blindly for his weapons on the table, unable to find anything on the part of the table he could reach, he leaned towards the table. A sudden falling sensation took over his form, he gasped quietly as fell from the couch and onto the floor with a loud thud as he landed on his stomach on the floor. A small groan passed Nicks lips as he lie there, not moving so he could calm down after the rather eventful wake up. His breathing was slowing and his heart rate slowing as well, but his thoughts were racing. Who was that person? Why was he after him? How the hell did he find him? He already knew the answers to the first two. He/she was a hunter and they were after him because he was a shifter, but he didnt know how he/she had found him...
He remained still for a little while longer, listening for noise to see if he had woken Sara up from the noise. Not being able to hear anything with his heart pounding in his ears, he sat up, looking around the room as if he thought another person was in the room. Seeing nothing but faint light from the windows he brought a hand to his head, rubbing it gently with another groan, feeling a bit sore from his fall and previously acquired injuries. The man got up and sat back on the couch, closing his eyes a moment and taking a deep breath. Damn... Probably woke up the whole town with that one...

Her sleep started bad, with constant wake ups and turning, tossing with strange dreams that seemed very much a reality usually leaving her on edge before she could fall asleep again. Finally she was able to sleep soundly after an odd dream, resting fully through the rest of the night. That is until morning came, and a loud thud startled her awake. Still in a sleepy daze she forgot about the man on the couch, auto assuming a hunter had tracked her home. Sara slid swiftly from her bed and grabbed hold of her pistol from the nightstand, taking the corner to the stairway uneasily. Dressed in nothing more then an off white colour tank top, and red pajama pants she wouldn't of looked like a threat. Without the gun that is. As she slowly took stair by stair, back pressed up against the wall she made her way downstairs, panic running through her rapidly. With liquid like movements she snuck along through the kitchen after checking every nook for someone, then she heard him sit back on the couch. She turned the corner swiftly and aimed, only to realize who it was. Sh trusted him enough to believe he hadn't planned anything, and with him rubbing his head she cursed under her breath. Attention was drawn off of him to scan the rest of the room, seeing nothing out of place, and no one other then him. With a small growl she lowered her pistol, looking back to him with a stressed type aura. "Damnit Nick, what happened?" He seemed odd. Not in a crazy sense, but in a rattled one. He looked like he just had a firecracker blown behind him, and was startled from it. Without a second thought she moved over to sit beside him, tossing the gun on the table. "Are you okay?"

Slowly his breathing returned to normal, his heart rate following suit. Shaking his head again as he tried to go over what had happened just then, only to pause mid thought to the sound of a voice. Sara. His gaze turned quickly to the source of the voice, finding her standing near the entrance to the kitchen. His vision went from her to the gun in her hand, his heart quickened a bit at the sight of the weapon, but he knew why she had it out. Even with the gun in her hand, he was relived to see her. He followed her as she moved to sit by him, shutting his eyes a moment to gather words for him to explain what had happened. He took a deep breath, opening his eyes to look up to her, speaking quietly. "Yea I'm okay I guess, it was just a bad dream... Might as well tell you the whole story. The night right before we ran into each other, I was at the edge of woods and it was storming pretty bad. All I saw was this figure when the lightning flashed, I tried to hide but he already knew where I was. I hit him with a few shots from my sling and ran after he shot at me, luckily his aim was off from me hitting him or the fact that it was so dark out... I just kept running, it seemed like forever but i know it was only the adrenaline. After awhile i got tired and was going to quit soon but my foot caught a root, and I fell and nailed my head on a rock... the next thing that I remember was morning."
He took another deep breath, letting it out in a relived sigh, being able to tell her what happened made him feel better about it, even if she didnt believe him. He moved slightly closer to her, resting his head on her shoulder lightly. He wasnt completely sure why he did it, and if she told him to move he would, but for now he just enjoyed having his head on her shoulder. "And thats how I got my injuries as well...."

When he looked to her when she had her gun he didn't look any better, and she figured she'd of been the same if someone came around the corner with one. Her more calm gaze looked over him when she sat at his side, switching to the faint glow at the window. Morning. And it was a chilly one at that. She could feel it through the house, and it made her shiver a bit, but kept it to herself. When he started talking she looked back to him, listening closely, but remaining on edge a bit. Her heart raced at the thought of the chase, a usual happening with all the confrontations she had had. When he mentioned his sling she nodded to herself, realizing that he did have a ranged weapon. Though what harm could a slingshot do? His fall made her eyes widen some, and a soft whine pass her lips. So, that's why he looked so rough. "Wow... You're lucky--" Her words were cut off when his head met her shoulder, feeling another socially awkward moment coming up. Sara had no clue what to do, but a faint blush crawled over her cheeks. He was in need of comfort, she knew. But had no clue how to give it, besides letting his head stay where it was. After a moment she reacted, bringing an arm around his back, pulling him a bit closer and hoped she wouldn't screw things up. After her long silence she continued, the blush deepening as she realized how long it took her to finish. "You're lucky he didn't kill you, and neither did the blow to the head. If you're cut up at all, you'd better clean them up. Or if you rather me to. There's stuff under the bathroom sink in a metal box. It works good." She really didn't know what to say, and closed her eyes in hopes of finding something. His heat against her gave a strange feeling to her gut, however he was keeping her warm. Her wolfs voice was blocked out with her thoughts of how to deal with him as a whole, gently resting her head on his after.

He broke gaze from her after he finished telling her what happened, looking at the window again. Its faint light illuminating part of the room, but not much. The sun must just be coming up. As she started speaking he relaxed more, pulling his gaze from the window as he lowered his head. His eyes soon fell shut, the world now black as his head rested on her shoulder. The girls sudden pause made him hold his breath, opening his eyes slowly. He wondered if she had seen something to make her stop, or if something was happening. His head lifted just slightly to look around. Nothing. A question started to form on his lips, but it didnt get any farther as her arm came around his back. The question was replaced by a wide smile, placing his head back on her shoulder as he was pulled closer. Shutting his eyes contently, listening to her as she started again.
He nodded some against her shoulder, moving a hand up to his head to see if he had any major cuts. There was only one, that he could feel at least, where his head hit the rock. If there was any more he was unaware of them. "Im surprised he didnt go after me. Would of been an easy kill, since I was unconscious. As for cuts I can only feel one big one, I dont know about the rest of me..." He paused briefly as she rested her head on his, a small blush reddening his cheeks. His smile widened, continuing with what he was saying. "... And I probably can handle it, but if you wanted to I wouldnt object." He had a warm feeling inside of him as they sat like this, enjoying the way Sara was comforting him. A content sigh left him, nuzzling into her shoulder a bit.

Her eyes opened again and she waited on him to say something, hoping she wouldn't have to. Gaze shifted to him as he felt along his head for injuries, not being able to see anything from her position, especially in such dim light. When he continued she held back a laugh and smiled, hardly keeping back a sly reply. Not after worrying about the large cut he said he found however, curious of how bad it was. If it was serious, cleaning it up was the best she could do. Otherwise he'd need medical attention. She'd find out later. "See why I stopped you from mentioning anything in the park? This place isn't safe either. I don't think anywhere is. I've watched too many of us killed by opening their big mouths in the wrong place. I couldn't let it happen to you." Or myself, I guess... She thought after, shrugging it off. There was her point to be made, that he had better watch what he said. Nothing more, nothing less. And it all came out nice and smooth, no awkward conversation needed. When he went on she listened, nodding. "Just make sure you get everything tended to. I don't care who does it. Hitting a rock has to of done some damage, even if it's minor." There she went again... Cold sounding, like she didn't care. Sara bit her tongue and fought back a whine, quickly thinking of something to cover up her mistake. It indeed, was a mistake. She didn't mean to sound so rough, it just... Came out. Clearly, it was going to take more work on her part to be socially friendly. "I'll go get the stuff, and look over you for any wounds you may not of found, we'll deal with the worst first, alright? And I'm sorry if I sounded like I don't care... I'm not really used to anyone around me. Never mind in my house." Look over him... Great choice of words. She smiled and laughed a bit, nuzzling him back.

As she mentioned the park his thoughts flashed back to the previous morning, thinking of her reaction to his careless use of the word 'shifter' out by the fountain. So this place wasnt a shifter sanctuary either, not that he expected it to, but there was always that small hope, especially after finding another shifter. These last few thoughts he shook from his head, nodding some to the girls words. This must be what she wanted to talk to me about... "Mhm, I see now why you stopped me. It would surprise me if there even was a safe place now." He paused, a sudden thought coming into his head. Curious, he thought he would try and get an answer, but decided to wait as he heard her speak again. The girls sudden change in tone seemed to catch him a little off guard, shrugging it off though in hopes she didnt mean it like that. His eyes reopened as she started speaking again, her words brining a smile to his lips. He laughed softly with her, only to have it cut off by her returned nuzzle, quietly enjoying the nuzzle. "Alright, I will uhhh follow you and stand there like a good boy? Haha until your ready for me to help that is. And dont worry about it, I understand."
There was a brief pause before he remembered about his previous thought, soon starting to speak again. "Oh! I just remembered what I was going to ask you. If this place isnt safe for shifters... Why do you live here?"

She gave a nod when he spoke the first time, gazing off to the wall as she thought about the park incident. She kept watch of him out of the corner of her eye, noticing his slight appearance change to her harder words, then as he laughed she blinked. It felt odd to laugh with someone, even be close to another person. Up until now, everyone posed a threat. No one could be trusted unless she was positive they were a shifter. Even then, some had been working along side hunters. Was he one of them? Trying to get her guard down just to pounce and kill her? Or to have a stupid no brained gun happy killer do it for him? Surely she would of been dead by now. After shaking the thought she listened to him, a bit amused by how he said the next few words. "Alright, I will uhhh follow you and stand there like a good boy? Haha until your ready for me to help that is. And don't worry about it, I understand." Everything he did or said still made her think of a dog, or a pup, From the way he acted to how he spoke sometimes. It was hard to believe he was a bird of prey. "Are you sure you're a hawk..?" She asked lightly after the last thing he said before answering, letting out a quiet sigh. "As far as I'm concerned, there isn't a single safe place for us. Might as well make due with what we can. I couldn't endanger my family once I realized what I was, and ended up getting this place not too long after wandering around. It isn't highly safe here. I've noticed a lot more shifters then I'd like to, and have been followed on a few of my late night walks. Needless to say, I've faced death a time or two too many. So far no one has been able to trace me back here though, so it's been a nice place to live. This house, at least. With heightened senses, it's hard for someone following to remain hidden. Only once has someone followed me home. And that would be you." She looked over to him again before leaving his side and getting up, making her way through the room and the kitchen to run up the stairs and get the medical kit she kept stashed under the bathroom sink. The supplies was kept in a metal box, white with a blue tint to it. A small latch type lock just to keep it from opening was easily popped open by her, making sure everything she needed was in it before making her way back downstairs to him. She paused at the doorway to flick on the light, looking to the table to check if her gun had been looked over by him.

A small grin found its way to his lips as she asked him if he was indeed a hawk, opening his mouth to answer but stopping as he heard her speak again. Her words held truth, there was no safe area for shifters like he had hoped there would be. All odds seemed to be against them, the shifters, no where was safe, and could be attacked at any moment. Yet somehow he has survived. Granted he has only encountered hunters twice so far, but in his first encounter they had killed his friend and mentor, leaving a great deal of revenge he wanted to fulfill. As she mentioned she has faced death to many times, he started to wonder how many times that was exactly. If she didnt mention it he might ask later, or just keep it to himself, although he found the latter less likely. Once she had finished he paused for a moment, speaking softly, addressing her question first. "Im pretty sure Im a hawk, unless theres something else that has a red tail with talons and good eye sight that looks extremely similar and can fly, that I dont know about." He laughed softly, continuing after. "I agree, no where is safe, not even in the wilderness... they will find you even there... But being with you and being inside a house has defiantly made me feel safer, even if we are in the middle of a hunter town." As she got up and moved towards the stairs, he watched her moving his gaze to the gun only after she had gone up the stairs. The most sinister weapon... he thought, taking his eyes from it, getting up to move towards the stairs. One shot is all it takes to make the receiver's world go black...
