The hawk flew high above a park he had recently come across, searching for prey and a new home. He had been drove out of his last home by hunters and had been running ever since. He was sure by now he had lost them but he wanted to get far away, for everything he knew was now gone. The sun was high on his back, figuring it was around noon or so, still searching for his prey. He soon gave up however, not particularly hungry anyway, just hunting to past the time. He soon landed on top of a swing set, the park seemed rather empty considering the time of day and the fair weather. He paid no mind to it most towns were either abandoned or near that way, at least the towns he had seen... and lived in for that matter. He merely sat and observed, trying to get a grasp on what kind of town this was, and who could be lurking here.

"Get out of here you mangy cat!" A girl dressed in a light blue tank top and shorts cried as a white and black feline jumped onto the bench she was currently sitting on, the cat having been trying to steal the girls snack. She flailed her hands to try and shoo it away, but the cat remained persistent and continued trying to steal pieces of the jerky she was eating. With a grumble the girl gave in, tearing a piece off and giving it to the cat. The feline mewed happily and seemed to give her its thanks in a purr, sitting on the table top eating its prize. The girl rolled her eyes at the cat, disliking the creatures quite a lot. "Yeah yeah, next time you aren't getting any." She mumbled, continuing to eat her jerky. She let a hand come up to brush her hair from her face and eventually stroke the cats back, rewarded by a loud purr. "So many strays around here... Bet everyone is more than happy with the lot of 'other' felines, why can't they keep real pets instead?" She mumbled in an irritated tone, lost to talking to the cat. "I mean, really... How can they stand being pets? How can they stand being petted every day by so many different people? I don't understand the joy of being a house pet, and I guess you don't either, huh?" She mumbled as she nibbled her food and stroked the cat, thinking about what there was to do for the rest of the day.

The slight breeze ruffled his feathers atop his head, turning it slightly to look over more of the park. Hmm, nothing to eat... Guess I need to look a bit more... With that he was off, wings flapping as he took off, talons tucking up under his body. He rode thermals up a bit higher, spiraling upward before leveling out and gliding once he was above the trees. He tilt his head slightly to get a better look at the ground, seeing a cat running under a nearby tree but other then that nothing of interest. What a dead town... Even the cats seem to hide, but there is nothing around of danger...[/i] His head turned more and he banked his wings to the right, starting to turn around; something had caught his eye. On a bench a little ways away sat a girl and a cat, the cat seemed to be eating something, what though he could not tell all that he knew was that it was an opportunity. His eyes brightened as he hatched a plan, after leveling off again he started to dive at the cat from the side. Whatever that is... I want it... Paying no mind to the girl that was near that cat, he set his plan in motion.[/color]

The girl returned to nibbling her jerky as the cat ate its piece, the chicken squishing between her teeth pleasantly. Forest green eyes watched the feline with amusement as it struggled to bite through the fatty pieces, finding herself having the same trouble. "Chewy isn't it?" She casually asked the cat, the feline giving a 'mrow' as if agreeing. She sat there for a while quietly eating the meat, watching as the cat looked past her at something. The cat dropped its food and jumped off the table in a rush, resulting in a tilted head, and a curious look behind her. Seeing nothing of interest she shrugged, huffing loudly. "You didn't even finish it! What a food waster, seriously. I'm not about to eat your scraps." She yelled after the cat, grumbling and leaving the piece sitting on the bench table as she bagged the rest of her piece, getting ready to leave as she swung her legs over the bench.

He dove swiftly at the cat as it ate, hoping it did not eat it all before he got there. The wind howled loudly around him, feeling some loose feathers ruffling in the wind. He blinked with his third eye lid to clear his vision, seeing the cat look up to him and book it with his newly cleared gaze. Heh, it even left the food behind. Perfect. He adjusted his wings as he started to level out his dive, talons coming out and extending towards his prize. Though the cat had left the girl did not even seen to notice him, even though she had turned and looked back. Hmm, not very observant this one... He smiled inwardly as he neared the girl, shrieking loudly as he passed by her and grabbed his prize off the table. He flapped with an amused look to a near by piece of equipment, landing on the top part of the equipment to start eating. He leaned down to bite at his prize, watching her carefully, studying her movements, gauging if she was a threat or not.

Green eyes widened as her ears caught a sort of whistle behind her, her body instantly on alert as she turned her head, just in time for a large bird to swoop down just beside her, and steal the jerky that the cat was once eating. The cry that followed indicated that it was some kind of hawk or falcon, jumping from the bench in surprise as it flew off to something to eat. With her body still on high alert she took a calming breath, mumbling softly to herself. Hmm, do birds like that usually dive bomb people? Maybe it was just really hungry... But the cat ate most of that jerky... Ahhh... I see why the cat ran now. The girl thought about it a bit more while watching the bird eat, her eyes traveling to the bag of meat she held, giving it a slight shake questioningly. With a shrug she followed after the bird, coming to stand a few feet away. "What some more, birdy? Gotta be hungry if you took that small piece..."

He tore at the jerky like substance, tilting his head back as he swallowed his meal. His golden eyes staring out at the girl as she got up and started to move, tilting his head to the side. Hmm, wonder what shes up to, doesnt seem to be up to anything evil though. Maybe... hmmm... He spread his wings to make himself appear larger, and prepare himself to fly if he needed to get away. He turned his head to the side a bit to better gauge the approaching human, blinking once as she spoke out to him. His talon slowly moved forward a bit, approaching her with caution. He inched closer until he reached the farthest edge of the climbing equipment, clinking his beak against the equipment in response to her bag shake, eyeing the bag as she stood. He squawked to her with a small dip of his head, keeping his head tilted still though. Well, this could be a huge mistake on my part, or on hers... either way its to late to turn back now.

She watched the bird with curious eyes as he ate and watched her, an amused expression covering her face to his sort of waddle over and his change of size. She shook the bag again while she watched the bird respond to her, her eyes narrowing her eyes at him. "You know, people kill smart animals like you... It's not safe to act like you know what we mean. You should finish the piece you have first though, you'll drop it if you take more..." She trailed off and watched the bird, an idea coming to her head as she took a piece out of her bag to eat herself. She sat down with her back against the bar, mumbling around her piece of food as her plan formulated. "Just squak when you're ready for more, I have lots." Like the fox she was, she grinned a sly smile, keeping it hidden from the bird however.

His wings folded back into his body once he didnt think she was a threat, as she did not make a move at him but he didnt let his guard down totally. The hawk blew air out of his nostrils heavily in a kind of amused laugh to her speaking of people killing him. They havent been successful thus far. He returned to eating his jerky as she offered him more, finishing the last of his piece in a few tears and swallows. Once she sat down and he had finished his meal he looked down at her notice her odd colored hair, and her slender form. There seemed to be something off about her but he couldnt put his finger on it, ignoring it for the time being he squawked playfully to see if she would do what she said. He tensed his wings and lifted them slightly from his form, though this was hardly noticeable, he was ready to take flight if need be.

The girl moved a hand to brush her hair out of her face and to block out the sun for a moment as she looked out past them, amused to see the cat from earlier bolt out from some tres into another patch further away. Her hand dropped to her lap while the other brought up more food to her lips, parting them to take a bite of the juicy chicken jerky. Her forest green eyes wandered over the rest of the park to notice a comforting lack of people, letting her legs stretch out infront of her form, back still leaning casually on the pole. After a while her eyes closed and she listened to the bird ripping at the meat, the sound stopping after a while, silence following for a few heartbeats until she heard him squawk. With bright eyes she looked up and opened the bag to produce a second piece for the feathered creature, slowly shifting to get to her feet and turn around to hold the piece out for him. "You know, your inteligence leads me to believe you aren't a simple bird. How about being more polite, and..." She gave a careful look around, her voice lowering to a whisper for her next few words. "Showing yourself?" She watched him for a reaction while still holding out the jerky, tossing it lightly to him to catch and eat if he so chose to do so. "Just... Maybe not here. There are forests surrounding this town, there would probably be a better idea."
