The girl looked for fammiliar landmarks as she walked through the trees, listening to the stranger carry on with what she'd blurted out. For a moment she was off in her own head imagining being on the back of a griffon, her thoughts cut short as she swiftly spun around to see him falling. The femme moved to go save him bit he caught his balance before she could get back to him, more worried that he'd been hurt than amused by his embarasment at the situation. Casting him a weary, worried look she continued forward, unlike him, very sure footed in the terrain. His question caught her by surprise and she paused her thought to look at him, unsure if she should give him that kind of information. After a moment her lips parted, revealing her secret. "I'm a fox. A cross fox. My parents are a red and silver, it's very unheard if for a child to be a different species as the parents, but I am. Despite the name, I'm not a cross between them. I'm not sure if you know your animals, but it's mostly just a different coat colour." She, like him, looked up and around, the tightness of the trees however making her more comfortable. The girl listened to his story and thought about her own tale, wondering how her parents had been along off since she had left. Maybe a visit is in order. She thought, carrying on with her new companion. Eventually a sort of bush group came into view, the girl heading towards it to part them, revealing a sort of cave opening. "I'm sorry about your loss, but we're here. You'll need to change forms, we can't fit like this."

He smiled as she moved toward him as he tripped, enjoying the offer of help. Well it looks like there are a few good people left in the world. He saw the worried look, deciding to dismiss her worry, not wanting her to become worked up again seeing as she had calmed down a bit. "I'm okay, just not as good on the ground as I am in the air." He blinked as she spoke of her form, nodding some to her as the man looked around to where they were, utterly lost. Heh... Well I hope I dont fall down and lose sight of this cross fox... would have a tough time getting out on the ground. "Ah, I did not know that. Im sure its a cool color when your in your form."
When she stopped he turned slowly in a circle, confused on why they had stopped, seeing nothing but trees and a few bushes and a giant rock cliff. A snake in the distance caught his attention as he stood, seeing it easily with his enhanced vision, moving slowly away from them. He nodded to her words, starting to transform, a bright light emitting as he made the change from human to hawk. After finishing he hopped until he faced her again, sighing some as he saw where they were going. "Really?.... A cave? That is probably my least favorite type of terrain. Mostly because I cant fly anywhere in them and have to hop. Also because its a claustrophobia issue... But if we must we must." He laughed softly in a small bird cackle, hopping over to the cave entrance and looked to her after gazing into the dark cave. "Well, lead the way, I will try to keep as close as I can." He laughed softly again, knowing he would be slow. Anxiously awaiting to see her fox form, interested in the color of the fur she would have, tilting his head curiously at her.

She nodded in relief as he explained the he was okay, watching his confused actions with a hint of a laugh trying to escape her lips. She held her comments back however as she parted the bush, the leaves and branches poking her hands. The girl watched in awe as the man took to his bird form, almost wanting to pick him up and ruffle his feathers just to say she'd done it. The femme let her hand pull away from the bushes to rub them off on her shirt from the prickles, and scented the breeze, making sure it was safe to take to her form as she turned her head to take in a detailed view of the area. She turned her attention back to the hawk and laughed, shaking her head once before replying. "It's not a cave for very long, about a five minute walk. You'll be slow hopping through... Hmm. There should be enough room for you to sit on me, just don't rip out any fur, please. Preferably close to my head for less drag. It opens up after the cave, I think you'll enjoy it. It's nice and open, but there are still trees, you'd be able to fly just fine. I don't think many people know about this place, there are never any scents but mine when I come. Well, besides some birds that live there. It's really a perfect spot." A warm light of reds and oranges consumed her body as she shifted her form, the whole thing taking maybe five seconds. Where the girl once was stood a black and red fox, her tail giving a twitch as she eyed the bird. The vixen stretched out much like a cat would before laying with her back paws under her, body lowered as much as it could be. "Here, get on. It'll be easier and quicker for us both. I'll run us through, cut the time in half since you aren't a cave person." Once the bird was boarded, if he did, the fox nosed her way through the bushes and into the cave mouth, quickly marking it as her place before she raced on through. Her tail a waving banner behind her and her ears pinned back, the vixens long legs carried her forward, her form virtually invisible in the dark, though she could see quite well both from sight, and her long black whiskers. She gracefully avoided any rocks that would trip her up as she ran, the air feeling good as it ruffled her fur.

He looked up to her as she watched him move the brush and spoke to him, blinking to her suggestion. He lifted his wings in a small shrug, nodding some as he thought over her plan. His face resembled a smile as she spoke of the cave opening up, peering into the cave again to see if he could see the opening, having no such luck though. "Well... I guess we could do that Lilly. Hopefully I wont ruin your coat... I mean I will try not to get your fur out, but I cant promise anything. I'm game for not having to hop the whole time though. Hmm, so is it enclosed in there? Like trees growing in the cave? Or just surrounded by large cliffs?" The hawk turned his attention to her again, tilting his head in curiosity. He averted his gaze slightly from the bright light consuming her as she changed into her fox form. He blinked some as he tried to get the light spot from his eye, fluffing up his feathers in frustration as it stayed there. The birds gaze traveled over the fox, marveling over the colors on the fox as she stretched, hoping closer slightly to inspect her more. She then lowered and he proceeded to move forward, hopping up and fluttering his wings to land on her back, resting between the fox's shoulder blades. His talons lightly clung to the fox, preening a few feathers on his chest after speaking. "Not hurting you am I?" As the fox took off he spread his wings slightly to maintain his balance, closing them just in time as they entered the cave. As they entered his head ducked down and he closed his eyes, fearing he would hit his head. His feathers ruffled from the cool wind, talons gripping her as light as he could while staying on, enjoying the ride she was giving him through the cave. Not being able to see very well due to the lack of light, though he could see the other side after a few moments in the cave. He blinked as the cave started to lighten up, eyes adjusting as they had made it to the other side, looking around as he stayed atop the fox.

The vixen remained quiet until they were running through the cave, her jaws parted to release her lolling tongue. Preferring to use the universal shifter way of talking to one another, she opened the 'channel' of thought-speak, her breath saved for running through the darkness. "It opens up, there are rocky cliff faces all around it, it's really wonderful. There's a waterfall, and caves, dens from animals that used to live there... I found it all when I moved here, I got lost in the forest and literally fell into the hole." She chuckled at that part, easily remembering the sprained ankle it gave her. Her black furred paws carried them further through the rocky tunnel, and within a few more leaps, the cave began to lighten. The fox came to a halt for a moment and carefully padded forwards, a downwards slope making her be more cautious due to the bird on her back. "No, you aren't hurting me at all, you could actually hold a bit tighter if you needed to. Oh, and call me Aysel. Lilly is a fake." She carefully padded down the slope, her tail shifting out behind her to keep her balance until the ground evened out again, the exit a leap in front of them, warm sunlight kissing the rocks, making them almost hot under her paws. She carried on until they were out of the rocks, the soft, lush grass tickling her paws as she looked out to the almost paradise like place in front of them. High rock walls surrounded the expanse of land, a sort of circular structure, possibly caused by a meteor some thousand years ago. Guessing, the boarders sheltered several hundred feet of grass, sand, pools of water, trees, everything to happily sustain many different species of animal. The area they walked out into was a grassy, tree filled expanse with a sort of pond off to the right, roots of different trees hugging its edges, making a natural edge around the clear water. In front of them, between thick tree trunks and long grass a doe and its fawn were grazing, hardly noticeable had the fawn not moved. To their left was one of the rock walls, the many outward edges upon it good for both foot holds, or for ledges birds could easily use. Aysel let her tail sway out behind her as she let the natural beauty sink in like it did every time she came, the surealness always making it seem like a dream. With a twitch of her dark ears she darted off to the right, planning on taking the bird for a swim to cool them both off. Her paws clawed into the rots and she launched off into the air, tail streaming out behind her. If Nick decided to move, so be it, but there was no stopping her dive now.

He laughed softly as she spoke of her incident, shaking his head some. "Your lucky you didnt get seriously hurt from taking a fall like that." He adjusted on her back slightly as she moved down the slope, leaning back so he didnt fall over her head. His head turning to look around at the area around him, scanning for any signs of life, his vision more towards the tree tops. He took in the beauty of the place as she walked around the hidden place, snapping back to the conversation before he got lost in the scenery. "Aysel? Mmm, a fake name huh?" He laughed softly, shaking his head in slight amusement. He hadnt seen any place like it before, some animals caught his attention in the corner of his vision, it was a doe and a fawn, looking to them for awhile longer before noticing that they were falling. He spread his wings and squawked in surprise, gripping her back a bit tighter, flapping some to stay put. He let go the moment before she hit the water, fluttering to lessen his fall, plunging into the water after. He struggled in the water, not able to swim very well, eyes wide as he looked to the surface. A bright light emitted from him, causing the water to lighten up around him, as he turned into his human form. This way he would be able to swim and not drown in the pond, kicking his legs until he finally surfaced, gasping for breath. His hand moved up to wipe the water from his eyes, looking around for the fox but not seeing her on the surface of the water, figuring she was still beneath it. Damn those wings, not for swimming at all.... He swam a bit towards shore until he could reach the bottom, standing there as he searched for his new found companion. "Thanks for the warning!" He called out to her, a small smile on his lips.

The birds clawed feet dug into her before he had let go, the vixen holding her breath as the water exploded around her from the impact. The fox was quickly submerged, and blinded by the light of his changing form, bubbles of air escaping her maw. Within the time he got to shore, she had surfaced, sputtering as she laughed to his reaction. Her hindlegs kicked out behind her and her front paws paddled through the water, eventually coming to the shallows herself. Like any typical canine, once she was out of the water she shook her fur and shook her hear, getting the water from her ears. "Oh, come on! It's a great day for a swim, isn't my fault I didn't know you can't swim!"

His head swung to look to where her laughter was coming from, shaking his head as he laughed as well. He watched the girl exit the water, calling out to her. "If its such a nice day why did you leave the water?!?!? And what do you mean! You though I could swim with those wings?" He laughed more and splashed water at her, looking down to his soaked clothes and sighing some. Well this sucks... Its gonna be a miserable walk home in these shoes. Taking his weapons from his side, wiping them off as best he could before he tossed them up onto the beach. He then walked to shore and laid them out better, removing his soaked T-shirt as well and putting it on a nearby rock in the sun to dry, setting his shoes and socks spread out on the same rock. The man then went to run into the water, making sure he would be running by the fox to get her wet if she didnt try to avoid the water. He then dove under the water and swam for a little bit, resurfacing a few yards away, turning back to the fox as he tread water. "So you gonna swim or sit there all day?" He smiled as he spoke, moving to float on his back, swimming slowly as he stared up and watched a few birds fly around.

"I left because you did, it's no fun to swim alone," The vixen teased him, sitting her rump down on the sandy ground, her tail lazily swaying behind her. She watched him strip his form of his wepons and shirt, curious as to what he was doing, but not asking. She blinked green orbs as she was splashed, vowing to get him back later. "Well, I'm not a bird expert, so yeah, I thought your wings would work. Ducks can swim, seagulls... Why not a hawk?" She jumped to her paws as he ran by, getting a bit splashed, but not minding. The fox chuckled and dived in after him, swimming lazy circles around her companion. Her ears lay back a moment as she moved do dip her head, enjoying the almost warm water since the sun had been beating on it. "If you're worried about your things drying, woudn't you dry faster flying around? It makes sense..."

He laughed as she spoke, hearing her dive in behind him in the water before he had shifted to his back. The small waves that the fox made pushed him gently from the side as she started to swim around him, only able to see her briefly out of the corner of his vision with how he was. The man kicked his feet some, causing his body to move back as he spoke. "Well ya know... Some hawks probably can swim but I cant in that form. Besides Seagulls and ducks both have webbed feet not talons." He teased some, closing his eyes as a ray of sunlight through the tree tops blinded him. "Well you know... Its rather uncomfortable to wear wet clothes? and besides Im not flying right now I am being a fish!" He laughed and made a blub blub sound, looking around for the fox but he had lost track of where she was, thinking nothing of it however. Luckily she has no idea I didnt know you could dry my clothes that way... learn something new everyday.
